Assam Cabinet Announces Ministers’ Five-Day Stays in Villages to Dedicate 400 Schools
Guwahati, 17th October: In a significant decision, the Assam cabinet has announced that cabinet ministers will be spending five days and five nights in villages across the state during the upcoming month of December. This move is aimed at facilitating the direct engagement of ministers in these remote areas as they dedicate 400 schools, ensuring the effective implementation of welfare schemes.
The decision, taken during the cabinet meeting, outlines a plan to select five villages from five different zones within Assam. Cabinet ministers will reside in these chosen villages to assess the practical implementation of various welfare schemes and gauge the level of saturation achieved in each scheme.
The primary objective of this initiative is to lay the foundation stones for 400 new buildings, which will include high and higher secondary schools. Notably, 100 of these new buildings will be dedicated to completely new schools located in the tea garden areas of Assam.
The move is expected to strengthen the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and welfare programs, especially in the most remote and underserved regions of the state.
As the cabinet’s announcement ushers in this initiative, it signals the government’s proactive approach towards holistic development and better access to education in Assam.
