Assam Cabinet holds review meeting Ahead of Vikas Yatra
Guwahati, 16th February: The Assam cabinet convened for a review meeting ahead of the forthcoming statewide ‘Vikas Yatra,’ slated to dedicate 3,920 welfare works estimated at Rs 25,3111 crore.
Commencing from February 23 to March 10, the Vikas Yatra in Assam will mark a significant occasion as the state government plans to distribute land rights to 2 lakh beneficiaries, dedicate 3,920 welfare works valued at Rs 25,3111 crore, and conduct shilanyas for 450 schools valued at Rs 3600 crore, among other initiatives.
State Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah disclosed that a total of 1,812 projects will be inaugurated, with foundations of 964 projects to be laid during the stated period.
Additionally, administrative approval amounting to Rs. 1510 crore under Asom Mala 2.0 has been granted for the construction of 12 rural road projects.
Launch of Mission Basundhara 3.0
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled Mission Basundhara 3.0, the state government’s flagship program aimed at securing people’s land rights.
The new mission seeks to modernize and streamline land-related services across the state. Key services include digitizing land settlement for non-individual judicial entities, granting urban tenants ownership rights, resolving Bhoodan/Gramdan land disputes, converting grant land into periodic patta, resolving land settlement disputes arising from the acquisition of religious institutions, and introducing “Map as a Service.”
Furthermore, the mission proposes the conversion of annual pattas to Permanent Patta (PP) and the digitization of the patta process from inception to completion. These initiatives are designed to simplify land-related transactions, making the process more accessible and efficient for residents.
