Guwahati, 7th May: In a dramatic turn of events, the Cachar police successfully intercepted a gang of robbers on Kalibari Road in Hailakandi, Assam. The incident culminated in a deadly encounter, resulting in the death of Afzal Hussain Borbhuiyan, a notorious criminal with a significant history of illegal activities in the region.
The police were in hot pursuit of the gang when the confrontation ensued. Borbhuiyan was fatally wounded during the exchange of gunfire, marking a substantial victory for the law enforcement authorities in their relentless fight against crime.
In addition to Borbhuiyan’s death, one of his associates was apprehended by the police. This arrest is expected to provide valuable intelligence that could further aid in dismantling the network of criminal activities orchestrated by the gang.
