Assam: Cachar Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 3 Crore in ISBT Silchar Raid
Guwahati, 10th May: Acting on credible intelligence regarding narcotics trafficking, Cachar police confiscated 572 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs 3 crore from ISBT Silchar. The contraband, smuggled from a neighboring state, led to the arrest of three suspects connected to the illicit activity.
In a separate operation spearheaded by Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) Kalyan Pathak, law enforcement conducted a special operation in Boko, Assam. During the early hours of May 9th, 2024, authorities intercepted an Alto vehicle suspected of transporting narcotics. Upon inspection, a significant stash of illicit substances, comprising 30 packets of heroin weighing around 420 grams, was uncovered concealed within the steering wheel column.
The subsequent investigation resulted in the apprehension of two individuals, Kabel Uddin (33 years old) and Sabur Ali (52 years old), both residents of Goroimari village under the jurisdiction of Barpeta Police Station. Implicated in the transportation and distribution of narcotics, their arrest sheds light on the extensive reach of the illicit drug trade network operating in the region.
