Assam: CGPD Cracks Theft Case; Truck Carrying Pan Masala Worth Rs 50 Lakhs Recovered

A team from Chandmari Police Station (CGPD) has successfully cracked a case of theft involving a truck carrying 100 cartons of Rajanigandha Pan Masala, valued at Rs 50 lakhs. The swift action led to the arrest of Md Monirul Islam from Chirang and Arun Roy from Vaishali, Bihar, identified as the mastermind, apprehended at 14 Mile, Byrnihat.

Following their arrest, a further probe led to the recovery of 79 cartons, worth Rs 40 lakhs, of the Pan Masala from Mothgoria, Narengi. Legal action has been initiated against the suspects involved in the theft.

In a separate operation, the West Guwahati Police Department has apprehended a suspect identified as Rabi Das (24) from Garigaon. The arrest was made by a team from Jalukbari OP after Das was caught red-handed with four stolen mobile phones at Adil Shah Gali this morning.

Acting promptly upon receiving information about suspicious activities, the police team found Das in possession of the stolen phones, leading to his immediate arrest. The diligent efforts of the police have resulted in the recovery of the stolen items, contributing to the swift resolution of the case.
