Assam Chief Minister Announces Cashless Treatment Initiative and Job Creation Promise Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Guwahati, 5th April: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has unveiled a significant healthcare initiative aimed at providing cashless treatment to ration card holders during a rally in Digboi ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Addressing concerns regarding access to affordable medical treatment, Sarma introduced the Ayushman Card initiative. Under this scheme, citizens can obtain an Ayushman Card by submitting their ration card, entitling them to receive medical treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh free of charge. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of illnesses and diseases for individuals who previously faced anxieties over healthcare expenses. Additionally, ration card holders will also benefit from the Orunodoi scheme, providing further assistance and support to the people of Assam.

Furthermore, Sarma reiterated the government’s commitment to job creation, stating that the promise of providing Rs 1 lakh jobs has been fulfilled. He assured the crowd that more job opportunities will be announced after the elections, emphasizing the government’s dedication to addressing unemployment and boosting economic prosperity in the state.

The announcements made by Chief Minister Sarma underscore the government’s proactive approach towards healthcare accessibility and employment generation, signaling a positive trajectory for the welfare of the people of Assam.
