Assam Chief Minister Condoles Death of Social Worker Nilima Kakoty

Guwahati, July 22 Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed profound condolences following the passing of Nilima Kakoty, a distinguished social worker, on July 20 at her daughter’s residence in Beltola, Guwahati.

In a statement via the CMO Twitter account, Sarma described Kakoty’s death as “a significant loss” to the state. He praised her extensive contributions, including her roles as President of the Assam Pradeshik Mahila Samitee and as a member of the Indian Council for Child Welfare.

Kakoty was renowned for her decades of dedicated public service and leadership in various social welfare organizations.
