Assam Chief Minister Envisions 2041 Amidst Bangladesh Border Tensions

Guwahati, 7th August: Amid heightened political unrest in neighboring Bangladesh, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has shared his vision for the state’s future, focusing on the year 2041. Sarma emphasized the importance of safeguarding religion and culture as the state faces current security challenges.

With the Indo-Bangladesh border on high alert, security forces and the Border Security Force (BSF) have intensified their vigilance. Sarma, reflecting on the situation, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his thoughts on the future of Assam. “In these uncertain times, as we guard our borders with Bangladesh, my mind often turns to the Assam of the future, 2041,” he wrote. He underlined the need for protecting cultural and religious values to ensure a promising future. “I pray for strength and patience to navigate the present, hoping our efforts today will build a brighter tomorrow,” Sarma added.

In response to the unrest, the BSF Guwahati has issued a high alert along the Indo-Bangladesh border, stepping up security measures to address potential threats. A statement from the BSF Guwahati PRO indicated that all commanders have been instructed to maintain heightened vigilance and readiness for any unforeseen situations.
