Assam Chief Minister Extends Greetings on Asom Divas, Pays Tribute to Ahom Ruler Swargadeo Chalong Su-Ka-Pha

Guwahati, 2nd December: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Asom Divas, commemorating the establishment of the state. Taking to platform X, CM Sarma emphasized the remarkable contributions of the Ahom ruler Swargadeo Chalong Su-Ka-Pha, who laid the foundation of ‘Greater Assam’ through principles of harmony, good governance, and unity.

“The great Swargadeo Chaolung Su-ka-fai laid the foundation of Greater Assam with the great ideals of harmony, good governance and unity There is a need for everyone to dedicate themselves to further strengthen the larger Assamese nation along the path shown by the hero of the era. Today is Assam Day (Su-Ka-Pha Day) and I pay my humble tribute to the founder of the Ahom kingdom and wish the people of Assam all the best. His great ideals will always inspire us to build a beautiful and prosperous Assam (Translated from Assamese)”, wrote CM Sarma on X.

In his message, CM Sarma expressed the need for everyone to dedicate themselves to strengthening the larger Assamese nation, following the path shown by the hero of the era. As the state observes Assam Day (Su-Ka-Pha Day), the Chief Minister paid humble tribute to the founder of the Ahom kingdom and conveyed best wishes to the people of Assam. He highlighted that the great ideals of Swargadeo Chalong Su-Ka-Pha would continue to inspire the efforts to build a beautiful and prosperous Assam.

Assam Divas, also known as Asom Divas, is an annual celebration held on December 2, marking the formation of the state of Assam in 1963. This significant historical day reflects the unique identity and rich cultural heritage of Assam, providing an opportunity for reflection and celebration of the state’s diversity.
