Guwahati, 30th September: In a recent address, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that during the Congress rule, securing government jobs in the state required bribery. Sarma made these remarks while distributing financial assistance to young entrepreneurs, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to boosting employment.
As part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency in recruitment, the second phase of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2024 for Grade III posts is scheduled for Sunday. The examination will be conducted by the State-Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) and will start at 9 a.m. across 822 centers in 27 districts, with around 734,080 candidates registered to participate.
To prevent cheating during the examination, the Assam government has announced a temporary suspension of mobile internet services statewide from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the exam day. This measure is intended to combat the misuse of technology, although voice calls and broadband services will remain operational to minimize public inconvenience. Previous incidents of malpractice linked to internet access have prompted this precautionary step.
The government’s efforts reflect a commitment to ensuring a fair examination process and restoring integrity to public sector recruitment in Assam.
