Assam Chief Minister Praises West Bengal Governor in Guwahati Meeting Amid Crisis

Guwahati, August 19 Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose for his steadfast adherence to constitutional principles during a meeting held in Guwahati on Sunday.

In a social media update, Sarma shared a video of their encounter, which featured an exchange of scarves and books. The discussions centered around the troubling situation in West Bengal following the alleged rape and murder of a woman doctor, as well as recent developments in Bangladesh.

During the meeting, a delegation of Assam doctors presented a memorandum to Governor Bose, calling for justice for the murdered doctor in Kolkata and enhanced safety measures for medical professionals. The doctors voiced their concerns for their safety in the wake of the tragic incident.

Governor Bose assured the delegation that their demands would be forwarded to the Prime Minister and other key ministers, and pledged to take necessary steps to improve security for healthcare workers. The official X handle of the West Bengal governor also posted photos of the meeting, highlighting the collaborative efforts to address these critical issues.
