Assam: Chief Minister’s Kind Act Touches Hearts in Kokrajhar

Guwahati: In a heartwarming display of direct governance and compassion, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma personally extended financial aid to an elderly woman during a BJP rally at Green Field in Kokrajhar on Monday. The spontaneous act has garnered widespread appreciation, highlighting a leader’s accessible approach to public service.

Dolly Rani Devi, a resident of Shanti Nagar, approached the Chief Minister during a workers’ meet, humbly presenting her plea for assistance. Dr. Sarma, visibly moved by her appeal, assured her of immediate support. Honouring his commitment, the Chief Minister, before his departure for Guwahati, personally signed a cheque for Rs 50,000. He then entrusted Bodoland Territorial Region Executive Member Arup Kumar Dey with the task of delivering the assistance to Ms. Devi. Later that very evening, the cheque was handed over to her at her residence, bringing a sense of profound relief and gratitude.

A visibly emotional Dolly Rani Devi shared her feelings, stating, “I never imagined I would be heard like this.” She profusely thanked the Chief Minister for his kindness and offered heartfelt blessings for his compassionate gesture.
