Guwahati, 9th March: Sena Sanjit Asom Borah, the Chief Secretary of Bir Lachit, was detained by Garmur Police in Majuli this morning. The arrest came following allegations of incitement and threats made on social media platforms.
Borah was reportedly taken into custody after allegedly making provocative statements on a social media platform, suggesting a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) scheduled for an unspecified date.
Reports, within the Garmur police department indicate that Borah’s arrest is linked to his online posts, which hinted at a potential disruption related to the CAA. However, the nature and motive behind this proposed protest remain unclear at this time.
