Guwahati: Secretary of the Assam Jatiya Parishad, Chittaranjan Basumatary has resigned from the party in a huge defeat. He was one of the party’s founders.
In a social media post, Basumatary wrote, “I resigned from AJP. I am politically free now.”
Basumatary contested for the AJP from the Dhemaji constituency in the 2021.
He secured second position in Dhemaji. He garnered the most votes out of all the AJP candidates in the assembly election.
He tendered up his resignation to the party’s President.
