Assam: Clash Between BJP and AIUDF Supporters Leaves Dozens Injured in Hatsingimari

Guwahati, 29th April: A clash erupted between supporters of the BJP and the AIUDF in Hatsingimari, Assam on April 28, resulting in over a dozen injuries. The confrontation escalated during an election campaign event, with chairs being hurled amid the scuffle.

The incident unfolded during an election campaign activity in the evening of April 28. Initially, a verbal altercation ensued among workers of the AGP, BJP, and AIUDF. However, tensions reached a boiling point during a heated ceremony, leading to a physical confrontation involving the use of chairs.

Approximately 12 supporters from both the AIUDF and BJP sustained injuries during the clash. Subsequently, the injured individuals were admitted to the Hatsingimari District Hospital for medical treatment.

The incident has sparked significant unrest in Hatsingimari, with locals expressing concern over the escalating violence between political factions in the area.
