Assam: Clash Erupts Between Two groups during football match in Cachar; Several Injured
Guwahati, 23rd November: Tension grips in Assam’s Cachar district last night after a fierce clash broke out during a semi-final football match organized by the Madhuramukh Super Club.
The incident was reported in Madhuraghat area of the district.
The match, featuring teams from Barkhla Balighat and a local Madhuraghat team, took a violent turn, leaving several spectators and players injured.
The dispute initially began as a verbal exchange regarding Tribekar, but immediately spiraled into a full-blown confrontation on the field.
Supporters from both the teams engaged in physical altercations, wielding sticks and creating a chaotic scene. The ensuing brawl resulted in injuries to numerous spectators and players from both competing sides.
Following the incident, local police officials arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile, the injured were shifted to Silchar Medical College for medical attention.
The Madhuramukh Super Club, which organized the football tournament, has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the brawl and take appropriate actions against those involved in the violent altercation.
