Assam CM : 4% increase in employees’ daily allowance

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday announced that all state employees and All India Service Officers would receive an additional 4% in Dearness Allowance ahead of the festive season.

He also sent his best wishes for the joyous Diwali festival.

Taking to Twitter, the CM said, “Happy to announce 4% additional Dearness Allowance for State Govt employees/All India Service Officers w.e.f. 1st July, 2022, payable with this month’s salary. Hope this will add to the festive fervour. Also extending my good wishes for an auspicious and happy Deepawali!”

The Union Cabinet approved a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance for its employees in September. In addition, the Center increased the Dearness Relief (DR) for retirees by the same percentage.

CM Sarma announced the increase in Dearness Allowance after the cabinet made its decision.

The daily duty pay for the state’s home guards was increased earlier on Wednesday by the chief minister from Rs. 300 to Rs. 767. After this increase, the home guard’s compensation will be Rs. 23,010.
