Assam CM Advocates for Healthy Family Planning on World Population Day

Guwahati, 11th July: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked World Population Day, observed on July 11 annually, by endorsing the importance of promoting healthy family planning under the Viksit Bharat initiative.

In his address, Sarma emphasized the significance of ensuring the well-being of mothers and children through accessible and free family planning services provided by government health institutions across the state.

“These services include a variety of temporary and permanent methods of family planning, ensuring that individuals have options tailored to their needs,” Sarma stated, highlighting the inclusivity and comprehensive nature of the initiative.

To encourage wider participation, the government offers incentives to individuals opting for family planning measures, aiming to foster a culture of responsible family planning practices.

Viksit Bharat, translating to Developed India, embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the nation’s prosperity. It serves as a holistic blueprint encompassing economic growth, inclusive development, technological innovation, and social transformation.

The initiative aims to guide India through its Amrit Kaal (Golden Era), combining social changes, technological advancements, and economic reforms to propel the country towards comprehensive development and prosperity.
