Assam CM Announces Construction of Cricket Stadium in Umrangso

Guwahati, 11th September: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the construction of a new cricket stadium in Umrangso, aimed at providing enhanced sports opportunities for the region’s youth. In a statement on social media platform X, the CM shared that the construction is progressing swiftly, which will enable young aspiring cricketers to develop their skills.

Sarma emphasized the importance of sports infrastructure, stating, “Opening up sporting opportunities for our youth! Construction of a cricket stadium in Umrangso is going on in full swing, which after completion will provide youngsters in the area an opportunity to hone their cricketing skills!”

In addition to this, the Chief Minister recently chaired a meeting to finalize the draft guidelines for the statewide rollout of Orunodoi 3.0, a socio-economic empowerment scheme. He also reviewed preparations for issuing National Food Security Cards to support the implementation of the scheme, which aims to provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries across Assam.
