Assam CM Announces Initiative for Indigenous Muslims Ahead of Eid
Guwahati, 17th March: In a significant move ahead of Eid celebrations, Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced the establishment of district-level committees to conduct socio-economic surveys of indigenous Muslim communities in the state.
Each committee will be chaired by the respective District Commissioners, aiming to gather detailed information to aid in their development.
The Bilasipara district committee of the Goria, Moria, Desi Parishad expressed satisfaction over the appointment of Surat Jamal Ali Ahmed, a youth from the region, to conduct the survey.
They welcomed Ahmed and urged him to ensure the survey is conducted with utmost care. The council also extended gratitude to the Chief Minister for initiating the project.
