Assam CM: APSC candidates can now write exam in Assamese too

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday has announced that the candidates of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) will now be able to write the exams in the Assamese language.

Addressing a press meet, CM Sarma stated that the candidates will be able to write their APSC prelims and mains in both Assamese and English language.

However, upon receiving messages from APSC candidates that they have been facing challenges in giving the exams in the English language as their education has been in the Assamese language.

CM Sarma announced this decision of allowing candidates to appear for both prelims and mains in both languages.

He further stated that the students applying for ACS should be permanent residents of the state.

He also requested the English medium schools to teach Assamese
