Assam CM Chairs Historic Conference to Enhance Public Welfare and Governance
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a landmark conference of District Commissioners and Co-District Commissioners at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Guwahati on March 11.
The conference aimed to review initiatives focused on enhancing public welfare and governance, as well as addressing several key issues.
During the meet, CM Sarma instructed the administration to implement all budgetary announcements and build on the gains of Advantage Assam 2.0. He emphasized the importance of deploying a whole-of-government approach to ensure last-mile delivery of key flagship initiatives.
The conference deliberations focused on several critical areas, including:
- Compensation for Pregnant Women in Tea Gardens: Ensuring fair treatment and support for expectant mothers in the tea garden community.
- Geotagging of PMAY Homes: Accelerating the geotagging process to facilitate efficient tracking and management of PMAY homes.
- Mission Basundhara 3.0: Resolving issues related to this mission in a time-bound manner.
- Streamlining Orunodoi and CM Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan: Enhancing the effectiveness of these initiatives to support women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.
- Distribution of 5 Lakh Gamosa: Ensuring the timely distribution of gamosas to beneficiaries.
- Effective Implementation of U-Win Platform and TB Elimination Efforts: Strengthening the U-Win platform and intensifying TB elimination efforts to improve public health outcomes.
The Chief Minister also discussed strategies to enhance the role of Co-District Commissioners in improving service delivery and preparing for the upcoming Panchayat Elections. The conference was attended by Assam Cabinet Ministers Atul Bora, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Keshab Mahanta, Chief Secretary Dr Ravi Kota, and other senior officials.
