Assam CM Claims Akhil Gogoi Supports 20% of State Govt’s Initiatives

Guwahati, 14th February: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that MLA Akhil Gogoi lends his support to 20 percent of the BJP-led state government’s endeavors. Sarma emphasized that despite other factors, Gogoi stands with the government for the development of the Sivasagar constituency. He clarified that while Gogoi aligns with the government’s initiatives for Sivasagar’s progress, his support outside the constituency diminishes significantly.

Sarma highlighted the cultural significance of Sivasagar, labeling it the state’s cultural capital, and stressed the government’s obligation to its development. He noted that Gogoi’s partial alignment with the government in local development projects indicates a nuanced stance toward the BJP-led state government.

Sarma’s remarks have ignited discussions in political circles, prompting analysis of Gogoi’s position vis-a-vis government initiatives. Earlier this month, Gogoi announced plans to refurbish the historic Rang Ghar monument and promote it on the World Tourism Map, lauding CM Sarma’s support for the project.

Gogoi also highlighted Sivasagar’s relative underdevelopment compared to other districts like Jorhat and Dibrugarh. He hailed the Rang Ghar Beautification Project as a significant endeavor for the region, signaling a positive step towards its progress under the leadership of CM Sarma.
