Assam CM Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack, Calls for United Stand Against Pakistan

Golaghat: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a “sad and condemnable” incident that demands a strong national response.

Speaking to the media, CM Sarma said, “The incident that happened yesterday in Pahalgam is very condemnable and sad. I am confident that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country will respond to this incident. Together, we will hold Pakistan accountable, and Pakistan will get the appropriate punishment for this incident.”

The Chief Minister further urged vigilance over the presence of suspicious elements within the country, stating that the internal security situation also requires close attention. “We should also keep an eye on the Pakistani people present inside the country,” he added.

In a pointed remark, Sarma referred to the nature of the attack, stating that the terrorists specifically targeted individuals based on religion. “Yesterday, when the incident happened, the terrorists asked if they were Hindus. That’s all they asked. They did not ask anyone if they were ST, SC, OBC or general caste,” he said, emphasising the need for unity among Hindus to confront such threats.

The Assam CM also reacted sharply to recent statements allegedly made by Pakistan’s military leadership. “Pakistan’s army chief has said that we have no relation with Hindus, Hindus are our enemies. We do not use such words, but the language he has used, we should listen to it and learn a lesson from it,” he said.

CM Sarma’s remarks come amid nationwide outrage following the Pahalgam terror incident and underline his firm stance on national security and communal solidarity.
