Assam CM Congratulates Dr. Anima Choudhury and Mukul Rabha for Prestigious Silpi Award
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended warm congratulations to playback singer Dr. Anima Choudhury and folk artist Mukul Rabha for being conferred with this year’s coveted Silpi Award. Recognizing their extraordinary contributions to Assam’s cultural heritage, the Chief Minister lauded their dedication to enriching the state’s socio-cultural legacy.
In a social media post, Sarma also praised the recipients of other awards announced by the Assam Government. “These recognitions celebrate the invaluable contributions of the awardees to Assam’s rich socio-cultural landscape,” he stated, reinforcing the government’s commitment to honoring individuals who have significantly shaped the state’s heritage and culture.
Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah had earlier announced the recipients of this year’s prestigious awards during a press briefing on January 5. In addition to Dr. Anima Choudhury and Mukul Rabha receiving the Silpi Award, it was revealed that veteran actress Reba Phukan will be honored with the Nat Surya Phani Sharma Award 2024. Actress Hira Neog is set to receive the Sahityasarjya Atul Chandra Hazarika Award, while the Bhimbor Deori Award will be presented to social worker Jaleswar Brahma.
The Silpi Award, one of the state’s most distinguished cultural accolades, recognizes exceptional contributions to art, culture, and societal development.
