Assam CM Contrasts India’s Ascendant Trajectory with Pakistan’s Economic Struggles
Guwahati, Assam – Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has delivered a sharp commentary on the diverging developmental paths of India and Pakistan, asserting India’s emergence as a dominant force in the contemporary global landscape while highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing economic challenges.
In a post shared on his official X platform, Chief Minister Sarma presented a comparative analysis titled “India vs Pakistan: Two Nations, Two Destinies,” underscoring India’s significant economic growth and technological progress in stark opposition to what he characterized as Pakistan’s persistent reliance on external aid and diminishing global standing.
Drawing upon economic indicators, Sarma pointed out India’s ascent to become the world’s fifth-largest economy, boasting a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $4.19 trillion. He further elaborated on India’s strong performance across various sectors, including exports, technological innovation, and the development of its digital infrastructure, stating, “From railways to rocket launches, India is building for the future.”
The Chief Minister also highlighted the flourishing digital and startup ecosystems within India, the nation’s substantial foreign exchange reserves, and its notable achievements in space exploration, referencing the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission and the upcoming Gaganyaan program. He further lauded India’s strategic independence, noting its avoidance of seeking financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for over three decades.
Conversely, Sarma’s post depicted a contrasting scenario for Pakistan, citing its GDP of $357 billion and comparatively lower foreign exchange reserves of $15.66 billion, alongside its frequent dependence on IMF bailouts. “Pakistan’s economy is built on borrowed time and borrowed money,” Chief Minister Sarma stated unequivocally.
Concluding his remarks, Sarma asserted a powerful declaration regarding India’s current global stature: “India is no longer just a rising power – it is a ruling force in the new global order. We innovate, export, invest, and build – while others borrow, blame, and fall behind.”
Chief Minister Sarma’s statement arrives at a time when India is actively reinforcing its influence on the international stage through its robust economic performance, assertive diplomatic engagements, and continuous advancements in technology.
