Assam CM dedicates cycling track in Jagiroad
Guwahati, 26th December: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on December 24th, 2023, spearheaded a major developmental push in Jagiroad, Morigaon district, inaugurating five projects totaling Rs. 114.17 crore.
One of the significant initiatives unveiled was a cycle track developed around the bank of Taranga Beel at a cost of Rs 9.56 crore. Aligned with the national Fit India movement, this endeavor encourages residents to embrace cycling as a means of fitness and sustainable transportation.
The inauguration of the cycle track is part of a broader effort by the Chief Minister to bolster public infrastructure in the region. Alongside the cycle track, the projects include a railway overbridge, an Inspection Bungalow, a sports association auditorium, a Multi-Utility Building, and various community-centric facilities. These developments underscore the government’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life for citizens and fostering a culture of health and well-being by promoting physical activities like cycling.
The cycle track, envisioned as a valuable addition to Jagiroad, aims to provide a safe and dedicated space for cycling enthusiasts, aligning with the broader goal of promoting eco-friendly modes of transportation in the region.
