Assam CM Directs Swift Action for Right to Public Services Commission Readiness
National Desk, 28th June: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led a pivotal meeting on June 28 aimed at addressing critical issues concerning the Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services. The primary directive from Chief Minister Sarma was to ensure the Commission achieves full operational capacity by October 2.
Key discussions during the meeting centered on essential requirements such as securing a permanent office space, outlining annual budgetary needs, determining manpower requirements, and organizing logistical support. Chief Minister Sarma emphasized the urgency of resolving these matters promptly to meet the October 2 deadline effectively.
The Chief Minister’s office shared insights from the meeting on microblogging platform X, highlighting the comprehensive discussions held on various aspects crucial to establishing and operationalizing the Commission.
In a related development, Chief Minister Sarma, during his visit on June 27, announced a significant initiative for the Barpeta Satra, a revered site with historical significance. Recognizing the need for preservation, Sarma approved Rs. 1 crore for the replacement of roofing sheets at Barpeta Satra, marking the first renovation of its kind since 1962. His decision underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage sites across Assam.
