Assam CM Dismisses Alleged Map Claim, Focuses on State’s Development
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has firmly rejected the claims of an alleged map created by certain individuals in Bangladesh, which purportedly shows Assam as part of their country.
Sarma stated that such claims have no bearing on Assam’s progress and dismissed them as baseless. “Some people in Bangladesh are making an imaginary map in which Assam is shown as a part of Bangladesh. But we are actually building semiconductor factories in Assam. Their fantasy does not matter to us,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister highlighted Assam’s growing focus on infrastructure and industrial development, underscoring that the state is committed to becoming a hub for technological innovation. He further questioned, “Does Bangladesh have a semiconductor industry? We are taking Assam so far ahead that people from Bangladesh will be amazed when they visit. They won’t be able to comprehend or compete with Assam’s progress.”
Sarma pointed to the establishment of semiconductor factories as a major milestone in the state’s industrial growth, a step that signals Assam’s ambition to lead in the fields of technology and economic advancement. He emphasized that such projects reflect Assam’s commitment to transforming into a center of innovation, setting the stage for future economic prosperity.
In his statement, Sarma made it clear that while certain individuals may continue to indulge in such unfounded claims, Assam’s leadership remains focused on creating a brighter future for its people. His remarks reinforce the state’s vision to move forward, leaving behind distractions and focusing on tangible growth and development.
