Assam CM: Documentary on Lachit Borphukan Soon
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a documentary movie about Bir Lachit Borphukan would be produced soon.
The statement was made on Monday during the opening of the Audio-Visual Hub at the Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio in Guwahati.
The Audio-Visual Hub was built at a cost of Rs. 10 crores,
Addressing to the crowd during the inaugural ceremony, he said, “I am delighted to inaugurate the Audio-Visual Hub.”
CM Sarma tweeted, “It will enable producers across Assam & other NE states to do all post-production activities of their films without going outside the region.”
“Filmmakers can add latest audio-visual affects to their films at subsidised rates at the hub,” he added.
According to CM Sarma, the challenge of choosing where to release films has almost entirely vanished as a result of the development of Over the Top (OTT) platforms.
He urged Assamese filmmakers to create bilingual movies.
He also declared that a new theatre with a 1,500-person capacity would be built at Jyoti Chitraban.
Additionally, a number of movie theatres, including Khanapara with a seating capacity of 5,000, will be built throughout Guwahati.
Moreover, CM also mentioned that ITA Machkhowa would undergo renovations.
