Assam CM: Dream That I Had In 2003 Has Come True Today
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated during a visit to the former Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) house on Tuesday that the city has taken its first step toward realising his objective since he was appointed minister of development in 2003.
The CM was deciding on the places for the Brahmaputra’s beautifying projects today.
He was accompanied by representatives of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on his visit.
Speaking there, CM Sarma mentioned that there will be no buildings on the stretch starting from the Sukreswar temple to the Chief Justice Residence.
He also said that Padum Pukhuri, which is close to the former DC office, would also be impeccably reconstructed.
The Assam CM stated that “beautification projects will be carried out on the land space designated for the DC office.”
He continued, “The DC office will be permanently moved to Rupnagar. Additionally, the region around the GMC office will be developed.”
He then went on to mention that the ancient GMC office building will be maintained as a historic venue.
