Assam CM Explains ‘BHARAT’ vs ‘INDIA’ Twitter Bio Amidst India vs Bharat Controversy

Guwahati, 24th July: In the midst of the ongoing India vs Bharat controversy, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the reason behind the use of ‘BHARAT’ instead of ‘INDIA’ on his Twitter bio. He stated that it was an oversight and he had simply “forgot” to update it after transitioning from the Indian National Congress (INC) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Clarifying his stance, Sarma proudly mentioned that he had changed his Twitter handle’s bio from ‘Assam, INDIA’ to ‘Assam, BHARAT’ to reflect his shift from the INC to the BJP.

In a tweet, he emphasized the significance of the terms ‘INDIAN’ and ‘BHARATIYA’, clearly indicating his stand on the matter.

He wrote on Twitter, “In my previous bio, I mentioned Assam, INDIA. However, I forgot to update it after my journey from the INDIAN National Congress to the BHARATIYA Janata Party. Now, I have proudly changed my bio to Assam, BHARAT.”

Addressing the inquiries from his former colleagues in the Congress, he expressed hope that his explanation would satisfy them.
