Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma flagged off Guwahati-Naharlagun Shatabdi Express & Naharlagun-New Tinsukia Vistadome on Sunday.
Along with flagging off these trains Sarma also extended the existing Vistadome services till Badarpur. Union MoS for railways DarshanaJardosh was also present at the event.
This special train will boost the tourism sector and local economy. It would also provide comfort and ease of travel experience throughout the journey.
CM Sarma sharing the news on Twitter wrote, “To boost connectivity & tourism in Assam & Arunachal Pradesh, I flagged off Guwahati-Naharlagun Shatabdi Express & Naharlagun-New Tinsukia Vistadome Express along with extending existing Vistadome services till Badarpur in presence of Hon Union MoS for Rlys Smt @DarshanaJardosh.”
CM further inaugurated a Handloom & Textile Centre & Outlet of Handloom & Textile Department at Guwahati Railway Station,
CM said that it will enable passengers to explore & take home a piece of Assam’s heritage whenever they visit the station.
