Assam CM: Four-Year UG Courses Will Start From 2023
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said four-year undergraduate programmes would begin in the state in 2019.
He said, “Four-year undergraduate courses will begin in state colleges beginning next year. The government has taken a number of actions to encourage knowledge acquisition through the educational system. The state government would fully cooperate in a number of areas, such as upgrading the college’s infrastructure and hiring professors to make it easier to start offering post-graduate courses there. This will help Sonari College develop into a full-fledged post-graduate institution.”
“The execution of new educational policy (NEP) should heavily rely on the state’s colleges. Every university in the state is getting ready to implement the new education policy starting in 2019,” he continued.
CM Sarma said that the NEP seeks to foster the development of knowledge and wisdom.
Notably, he made the remark on Sunday while attending the Golden Jubilee closing ceremony of Sonari College in the Charaideo district.
He additionally released mementos on the occasion of the celebration.
