Assam CM Guarantees Ration Card Distribution to Every Household; Unveils Welfare Plans
Guwahati, 4th April: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a significant announcement during his visit to Nagaon, Assam, affirming the state government’s commitment to ensuring that ration cards reach every household. Sarma highlighted that these cards would grant access to monetary benefits under the Orunodoi scheme, a move aimed at bolstering welfare measures for residents.
Addressing party workers alongside BJP Lok Sabha candidate Suresh Bora, Sarma reiterated the government’s dedication to social welfare initiatives. He disclosed plans for the ‘Lakhpati Baideo’ scheme, which entails providing Rs 10,000 assistance to eligible beneficiaries, covering their life and health insurances. The scheme is slated to benefit every family in Assam.
Furthermore, Sarma unveiled proposals for an additional 50,000 government service recruitments, underlining the state’s commitment to bolstering employment opportunities. Reflecting on past accomplishments, he underscored the provision of free rice to the state’s populace, emphasizing the government’s efforts to alleviate food insecurity.
In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Nalbari on April 19, Sarma urged support for Modi’s re-election bid, stressing the need for a renewed vision for both the nation and Assam.
Accompanied by cabinet colleagues and state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, Sarma’s visit underscored the government’s resolve to prioritize welfare initiatives and pave the way for a prosperous future for the people of Assam.
