Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Attends SP Conference, Signs MoUs and Inaugurates Cyber Police Stations

Guwahati, July 28: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the opening day of a two-day conference of superintendents of police (SP) in Bongaigaon.

The SP conference commenced at the newly inaugurated Assam Police convention centre in Bongaigaon.

Chief Minister Sarma signed important memorandums of understanding (MoU) with Microsoft, the National Cyber Peace Foundation, and the India Future Foundation during the conference. These collaborations are anticipated to strengthen the state’s efforts in a variety of sectors, including cybersecurity and technical breakthroughs.

Furthermore, CM Sarma unveiled the new logos of the Village Defence Organization (VDO) and the Special Task Force (STF), aiming to provide these organizations with a fresh identity and renewed focus.

In a move to streamline passport verification procedures and make it more accessible to the people of the state, the Assam CM also launched the M-Passport application.

Additionally, CM Sarma virtually inaugurated two cyber police stations during the SP conference, reinforcing the state’s commitment to combat cybercrimes and ensuring online safety for its citizens.

The conference served as an opportune platform for the Assam Police to exchange ideas, discuss strategies, and strengthen collaborations in their collective efforts to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law in the state. With these initiatives and partnerships, Assam aims to enhance its capabilities in tackling modern-day challenges and ensuring a secure environment for its residents.
