Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Bids Farewell to Governor Gulab Kataria
Guwahati, 30th July: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Raj Bhawan today to bid farewell to Governor Gulab Kataria and First Lady Anita Kataria. This visit follows the major gubernatorial reshuffle announced by President Droupadi Murmu on July 27.
During the meeting, Sarma expressed his gratitude for Kataria’s steadfast support of government policies and his valuable guidance throughout his tenure. The farewell marks the conclusion of Kataria’s term as Assam’s governor, as he prepares to transition to a new role in Punjab.
Kataria’s reassignment is part of a broader reorganization within India’s gubernatorial positions, which includes seven new appointments and three transfers. In Punjab, Kataria will succeed Banwarilal Purohit.
