Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Calls for ‘Maati, Beti, Roti’ Protection in Upcoming Jharkhand Elections
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the importance of “Maati, Beti, Roti” (land, daughter, and livelihood) as the core focus for the upcoming elections in Jharkhand.
Addressing a public gathering, CM Sarma urged citizens to defend their cultural and societal identity, urging them to protect these pillars of community life.
“We have to fight this election for our ‘Maati, Beti, Roti’ and to save Jharkhand… We have to save our culture and society,” he stated, underscoring the importance of preserving regional identity and values.
The Chief Minister highlighted concerns over demographic changes, referencing issues like encroachment and the loss of traditional cultural spaces. “Infiltrators enter the state, marry our girls, encroach on our lands, and in our own country, we are forced to seek permission to hold our Ram Navami processions,” Sarma said, questioning the direction in which the country is heading.
Urging unity, he added, “Ek rahega toh safe rahega” (Only by staying united will we remain secure), calling for collective action to protect Jharkhand’s heritage, security, and social harmony.
