Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Celebrates Four Years of Governance in Bodoland Territorial Region

Guwahati: As the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) marks four years of governance, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the region for becoming a beacon of peace and prosperity.

Reflecting on the significant transformation of BTR, CM Sarma described it as a representation of the “best of Assam’s growth story.”

In a message on his official X handle, Chief Minister Sarma extended gratitude to the people of BTR for their unwavering trust in the governance initiatives. “The Bodoland Territorial Region, once marred with unrest and violence, is now an apostle of peace and symbol of prosperity,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted several key achievements of the region, including strategic investments, successful sporting events, vibrant cultural celebrations, the awarding of Geographical Indication (GI) tags for heritage items, and strengthened community ties. These developments, he noted, reflect the positive change that BTR has undergone in recent years.

Sarma also credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the progress made in the region, attributing the achievements to their guidance and blessings. Additionally, he emphasized the collaborative efforts of the Triple Engine Government—comprising New Delhi, Dispur, and Kokrajhar—which, according to him, has propelled the region to new heights of success, fostering peace and progress for its people.
