Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Claims Congress, JMM Leaders Concede Defeat Ahead of Jharkhand Polls
Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-incharge for the Jharkhand state elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has asserted that Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders have privately accepted an impending defeat in the upcoming elections. According to Sarma, the rhetoric at recent rallies indicates a lack of confidence among opposition leaders.
Speaking to the media, Sarma remarked, “The language used by the Jharkhand CM and Congress-JMM leaders in their speeches clearly shows nervousness. They themselves have admitted they won’t win. We have no issues with the election process or with the roles of the Election Commission, state government, or central government.”
Sarma highlighted BJP’s confidence in the electoral process, expressing satisfaction with the roles played by the Election Commission, the state, and the central government in facilitating a fair election. This comes as BJP campaigns intensify, with Sarma noting a strong momentum in the state for the party.
In a significant boost to the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to return to Jharkhand on November 10 for further engagements. Following well-attended rallies in Chaibasa and Garhwa, where Modi addressed a large audience, Sarma stressed the positive reception for Modi’s messages and the growing support for BJP’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state.
“The Prime Minister’s visit is vital,” Sarma said, “Today’s rallies showed extraordinary enthusiasm, signaling that the NDA and BJP are well-positioned to form the government.” Plans for Modi’s next visit include two major public gatherings in Bokaro and Ranchi, with a potential roadshow in Ranchi to reinforce support among the voters.
The BJP’s strategy in Jharkhand reflects the party’s focus on securing the state with sustained engagement from top leaders and confident assertions about the elections’ outcome.
