Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Condemns Police Raid at Ranchi Guest House Where Amit Shah Stayed
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Jharkhand Police for conducting a raid at the Sarala Birla School Guest House in Ranchi, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah had stayed on November 11. Sarma, a senior BJP leader and co-incharge for the upcoming Jharkhand elections, expressed his disapproval on Twitter, labeling the raid as unwarranted and politically motivated.
Sarma wrote, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah stayed at the Sarala Birla School Guest House in Ranchi on the night of 11 November. Today, Jharkhand Police raided this institution without any concrete reason, which clearly shows the growing impatience of the ruling government.” He described the incident as an abuse of power and a deviation from lawful governance.
The Chief Minister further urged officials to maintain integrity and impartiality in their work, cautioning against succumbing to political pressure. “Compliance with the law is paramount; do not succumb to unnecessary pressure and do not compromise your integrity to please political masters,” Sarma emphasized in his statement.
The incident has sparked political tension, with BJP leaders accusing the ruling coalition in Jharkhand of misusing administrative machinery for political vendettas. There has been no official response from the Jharkhand government or police explaining the reasons behind the raid, leaving the matter open to speculation and intensifying the political discourse ahead of the state elections.
