Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Congratulates Joyring Warisa for Runner-Up Finish in Continental GT Cup 2024

Guwahati — Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his congratulations to Joyring Warisa from Umrangso for his remarkable achievement as the runner-up in the Continental GT Cup 2024, recently held in Chennai.

Warisa’s success in the prestigious motorsport event has brought great pride to the state, with the Chief Minister praising his dedication and perseverance.

The Continental GT Cup is a highly competitive racing tournament, drawing participants from across the continent.

Warisa’s impressive performance in the event has earned him widespread appreciation and is seen as a significant milestone in his racing career.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup 2024 marks its exciting fourth season, taking place under the JK National Racing Championship. The cup features a unique Pro-Am format, blending amateur and professional riders in a shared competition. This season introduced three distinct championships—Professional, Amateur, and a new Team Championship, where a professional and an amateur rider pair up.

The championship includes three rounds and a total of eight races, with the first two rounds held at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and the finale at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

Registrations for the tournament began in May 2024, with zonal selections in Guwahati, Bangalore, Pune, and New Delhi. A total of 48 amateur and 50 professional riders competed, with the fastest advancing to the main championship.

Warisa’s outstanding performance in such a competitive field has brought accolades not only to himself but also to Assam, further raising the state’s profile in motorsports.
