Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Displays Sporting Spirit at Nagaon Indoor Stadium Inauguration

Guwahati, 25th February: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam demonstrated his love for sports as he graced the badminton court at Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon during the unveiling of the newly constructed indoor stadium. His vibrant enthusiasm and adeptness on the court exemplified the essence of healthy competition and camaraderie.

Expressing his elation on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarma emphasized his belief in inaugurating stadiums through active participation in sports rather than conventional ribbon-cutting ceremonies. He humorously remarked on social media, “Best way to inaugurate a new stadium is to play a game (and win it),” reflecting his fervor for sports and commitment to fostering active lifestyles among citizens.

Chief Minister Sarma’s role as the President of the Badminton Association of India further underscores his profound connection to the sport and dedication to its advancement nationwide.

The inauguration of the indoor stadium in Nagaon marked a significant milestone amidst Chief Minister Sarma’s comprehensive agenda of developmental projects in the region. Alongside the stadium unveiling, various initiatives were introduced, including the inauguration of Pranab Baruah Kalakhetra, foundation stone laying for Pal Naam Than in Bebejia, Lakhi Nagar Chariali, and the new circuit house in Nagaon, as well as the launch of an open theatre and food hut. Additionally, the symbolic foundation stone laying ceremony for the CM’s Gourav Path signified a pathway towards progress and prosperity for the region.
