Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Embarks on Mumbai Visit to Attract Investors for Advantage Assam 2.0
Assam: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will begin a three-day visit to Mumbai on Sunday as part of efforts to attract investors for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 infrastructure summit. The visit will include a roadshow and discussions with key leaders of India Inc., focusing on investment opportunities and collaboration.
Announcing his plans on social media platform X, CM Sarma stated, “For the next 3 days, I’ll be in Mumbai to meet the leaders of India Inc. and explore areas of mutual collaboration for the upcoming #AdvantageAssam 2.0 Summit. I will also participate in the Road Show to invite potential investors to the land of limitless opportunities – Assam.”
Scheduled for February 24 and 25 in Guwahati, Advantage Assam 2.0 aims to attract global investments, create government jobs, and foster entrepreneurship. This marks the second edition of the summit, following its successful debut in 2018, and is set to solidify Assam’s position as a premier investment destination in India.
In addition to its economic focus, the summit will celebrate Assam’s cultural heritage. A grand performance of the traditional Jhumur dance, featuring over 7,500 dancers and artists from the tea tribe communities, will be a highlight of the event. Preparations are already underway, including master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.
This cultural initiative follows Assam’s recent Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance, further showcasing the state’s vibrant traditions. The Jhumur performance is expected to captivate attendees and leave a lasting impression, underscoring Assam’s rich cultural identity.
Advantage Assam 2.0 promises to be a landmark event, drawing participants from around the world to explore investment opportunities and witness the state’s dynamic blend of economic potential and cultural vibrancy.
