Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Expresses Hope for Narendra Modi’s Fourth Term as Prime Minister

Guwahati, 8th June: As Narendra Modi prepares to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for an unprecedented third consecutive term, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has voiced his aspiration for Modi to secure a fourth term after the next general elections in 2029.

During his visit to Ayodhya on June 8, Sarma shared his sentiments with reporters, expressing a fervent prayer to Lord Shri Ram for Modi’s continued leadership. “I have come to Ayodhya and prayed to Lord Shri Ram that Modi ji becomes the Prime Minister for the fourth time as well after completing his upcoming third tenure,” Sarma stated.

Sarma’s statement, made on the eve of Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, reflects his unwavering confidence in Modi’s leadership and electoral prospects. Despite opposition criticism, Sarma emphasized his belief in Modi’s ability to secure a third term, stating, “Whatever the opposition says, respected Narendra Modi ji is becoming the Prime Minister of the country for the third time.”

Acknowledging the inherent challenges of the electoral process, Sarma highlighted the inevitability of wins and losses in the political arena. “There are 542 seats; one will win somewhere, lose somewhere. But Modi ji has already become the Prime Minister, hasn’t he?” he remarked.

Drawing parallels between Modi and India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarma’s remarks underscore his admiration for Modi’s leadership and his hope for India’s continued progress under Modi’s stewardship.
