Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurates Model Hospital and Govt Law College in Tezpur
Guwahati, 27th January: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 27 inaugurated a 30-bed Model Hospital in Sootea under Tezpur sub-division. This hospital, constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore, aims to contribute to the overall health and well-being of the local population. CM Sarma, who laid the foundation stone for the hospital in 2019 during his tenure as the state’s health minister, emphasized its importance.
Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Tezpur Government Law College, located in the Chakighat locality of Tezpur under the Sonitpur district. Constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crore, the law college is part of the broader plan to establish 10 more law colleges in the state. CM Sarma also revealed plans for a state-of-the-art university in Gohpur, Biswanath district, and an industrial center covering around 35 bighas of land around Chakighat.
Expressing his aspirations, Sarma mentioned his desire to embark on a bike ride after the completion of key projects, including the state’s tunnel route from Numaligarh to Golaghat, the Kaziranga Flyover Bridge, and the Dibrugarh to Majuli road.
In addition, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Tea Tribes and Tribal Students’ Hostel at Tyagbir Hem Barua College in Jamugurihat. This hostel, costing Rs 88 lakh, aims to support tea tribes and tribal students in pursuing higher education.
