Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Pledges Regular Oversight to Curb Corruption

Guwahati, 1st January: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a decisive stance against corruption, declaring his intent to visit the Deputy Commissioner’s office of Kamrup Metropolitan district in Guwahati every 15 days. During the foundation stone laying ceremony for Assam’s longest flyover, CM Sarma addressed the gathering, acknowledging past issues at the DC office and expressing his commitment to eradicating corruption.

Highlighting challenges faced by the public, including delays and anomalies in document processing, CM Sarma stated, “I have now decided that I will be visiting the Guwahati DC office every 15 days so that we can rid the Guwahati DC office completely of corruption and streamline things.”

Known for his unwavering stance against corruption, CM Sarma’s government has previously taken action against corrupt officials, land brokers, and addressed the infamous APSC cash-for-jobs scam. The latest commitment to regular oversight at the Guwahati DC office reflects a continued effort to strengthen the state’s anti-corruption measures and streamline administrative procedures.
