Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Praises Morigaon’s Magic Festival

Assam: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has commended the Morigaon District Administration for organizing the ‘Mayong Indrajaal Magic Festival’.

During a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on November 28, the festival’s steering committee requested Sarma to make the event an annual feature on the state’s tourism calendar.

Sarma assured the committee of government support and promptly referred the proposal to Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah. He also instructed the committee to meet with the minister to discuss the festival’s future. The Mayong Indrajaal Magic Festival has successfully shed light on Mystic Mayong’s mystical aura, drawing global attention to the region’s magical charm.

Following the festival, Morigaon district has witnessed a surge in tourist arrivals, with visitors flocking to explore the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, Magical Mayong, and other attractions such as river dolphins, ancient caves, medieval statues, and kayaking opportunities at Charanbeel. The festival has also highlighted the significance of Patekibori Satra, considered by many to be the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev.
