Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Targets Jharkhand Government, Vows Reforms for Youth, Women, and Poor
Assam: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government, accusing it of failing to fulfill key promises made during the 2019 elections.
Addressing an election rally at Mandu in Hazaribag district, Sarma asserted that the upcoming Jharkhand election was crucial for the poor, youth, women, and the pride of Hindus.
Sarma specifically targeted Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of being distracted by personal issues instead of addressing the state’s pressing challenges. “Chief Minister Hemant Soren is busy talking about his wife, while his wife Kalpana Soren says ‘ek hi nara Hemant dubara’ (one slogan, Hemant for a second term). I want to ask, who will talk about the youth, women, and the poor in Jharkhand?” he said, emphasizing the need for a change in leadership. “This time, no Hemant ‘dubara’ but poor and youth ‘dubara’,” he added.
The Assam CM further stated that the election was not just about regional issues but about the development of both Jharkhand and the nation as a whole. He alleged that the Soren government had failed to deliver on promises like providing five lakh jobs and unemployment allowances.
“If BJP is voted to power, we will provide 2.87 lakh government jobs and create five lakh job opportunities. We will give Rs 2,000 to graduate and post-graduate level students for two years so that they could carry out their preparations for jobs,” Sarma pledged.
Sarma also raised concerns over alleged infiltration in Jharkhand, accusing the JMM-led government of “patronizing” it. He claimed that Bangladeshi infiltrators were entering the state, marrying tribal women, and acquiring their land. “If BJP is voted to power, we will drive them out from Jharkhand,” he vowed.
The rally in Hazaribag marked a significant moment in the BJP’s ongoing election campaign in Jharkhand, as the party seeks to position itself as a champion for the state’s development, youth, and women.
