Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: TIPRA Motha can never form Govt in Tripura

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma pleaded with the people of Tripura on February 3 not to waste their votes for TIPRA Motha because the party would not be able to create the state’s government.

Sarma was speaking at a party event in support of BJP candidate who is also BJP Janajati Morcha state president Bikas Debbarma at Krishnapur Assembly Constituency in Khowai district.

“Tipra Motha may win in some seats but they can’t form a government. They are not in Delhi also. Now, what Tipra Motha is promising to people, how they will work for them as they will be nowhere in Tripura or in Central? Giving a vote to Tipra Motha and not giving a vote is equal,” said Assam CM and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma.

“They want to divide the state into two parties that no one will support it. We will work for tribal’s education, job, and employment and I want to clear that Tripura will be one state and will work for the development of Tripura”, said Sarma.

On the other hand, BJP national president JP Nadda at the federal level asserted on February 3 that the state which had a history of insurgency and violence had now achieved peace development and prosperity.

Nadda, who came here this morning to speak to two massive gatherings, claimed that the Vijay Sankalp Rally gave him the chance to launch his election campaign, and that today’s turnout was evidence of the people of the state’s decision to elect a new administration.
